Adhesives + Adhesive Products

Texture testing instruments to measure and analyze adhesives and products with adhesive properties such as gels, glues, and tape.

Texture Analyzers and testing instruments for measuring the textural and physical characteristics of adhesives and adhesive products.

Texture Technologies has been serving the adhesives industry for over 20 years. We’ve been featured in Adhesive & Sealants Industry and Adhesive Age magazines and our texture measurement tools have been used by all the major players in the adhesives industry. With our Texture Analyzers, virtually any product's adhesive characteristics can be quantified. Quality control departments no longer need to rely on rolling ball-style tests, non-reproducible tack tests, time-consuming static shear tests, or tests which cannot capture the behaviors designed into materials.

The Stable Micro Systems’ family of texture analysis instruments is extremely easy-to-use and very flexible, providing accurate and reproducible adhesive test results. The TA.XTPlus, TA.HDPlus, and TA.XTExpress Texture Analyzers are simple to calibrate and easy to validate, offering researchers and engineers more than traditional test methods. Most textural analysis parameters can be easily quantified with the TA.XTPlus Texture Analyzers and Exponent software programs and some attributes can only be measured with our instruments.

Some of the many adhesive products that our product testing equipment can analyze include:

  • Tapes: double-sided, duct, electrical, foam-backed, masking, office, packaging, labels, and bandages
  • Medical, cosmetic, and silicon gels
  • Gels of any type
  • Muco-adhesives, transdermals and bio-adhesives
  • Caulk and caulkings
  • Glue and glue products
  • Hot melt products
  • Resins
  • Sealants
  • Ointments, pastes, creams and lotions
  • Paints, stains, finishes and paint products
  • Solder pastes, inks, blocks of butyl, etc.
  • Coatings
  • Mouse, insect and animal traps

Some of the many physical properties that can be analyzed using the Texture Analyzer include:

  • Adhesiveness
  • Quick stick
  • Tackiness
  • Green strength and curing behaviors
  • Cohesiveness
  • Shear strength and creep
  • Stringiness and 'legs'
  • Extensibility
  • Film and tensile strength
  • 180 degree peel strength
  • 90 degree peel strength
  • Floating peel strength
