Texture Analyzers, Texture Analysis, and Texture Measurement Instruments
Support: Texture Analyzer Upgrades
Texture Technologies Corporation (TTC) is the exclusive North American distributor of Stable Micro Systems’ (SMS) family of Texture Analyzers, texture measurement instruments, and texture analysis equipment. Our instruments, probes, fixtures, peripheral devices, software, and other accessories are designed for forward compatibility so our texture testing products are easily upgradable.
TA.XTPlus upgrades allow users of TA.XT2i or TA.XT2 instruments to upgrade existing mechanics with new advanced electronics and Texture Exponent software. Upgrading your instrument will protect your investment in the original texture analyzer system. While preserving the major mechanical components, Stable Micro Systems will provide all new electronics and software necessary to keep your texture analyzer working for you well into the future. In fact, all of Texture Technologies' instruments - whether they are 10, 15, or even 20 years old - are upgradable.
The big question for existing users is: What gets replaced? It’s simple: we remove all existing electronics and motors from the base of the TA together with the keyboard which is no longer required. These are replaced with a new base skirt containing the electronics and motor, which locates directly onto your existing TA mechanical frame. The latest software, Exponent, is included in the typical Plus upgrade. The software will no longer require a data acquisition card in your PC since the A/D conversion in built into the instrument’s electronics. Your load cells will be upgraded to a new format which enables them to hold calibration information. The upgrade will be done in our New York office. The keyboard, existing A/D card, long curly cable, data cable and serial cable will no longer be needed and must all be returned to our New York office with the TA.XT2i or TA.XT2 Texture Analyzer.
- Reduce maintenance costs - By upgrading to the most current electronics, it will provide special firmware to report and overcome technical problems and accommodates flash upgrading. This eliminates the problems occurring from excessive downtimes as instruments can be diagnosed and updated via email attachments. You will also receive another one year parts warranty on your complete system.

- Develop your own test routines - A standard facility of the Plus upgrade is the ability for the user to develop and write their own unique test procedure or Sequence. The number of these sequences that can be produced and there complexity is limitless. Designing your own test method has never been so easy as with the new Sequence Wizard provided with the software.
- Achieve complete flexibility and portability - Exponent is a completely new 32 bit software package exclusively for use with the Plus system which has the added advantage of not requiring a card to be fitted into the PC. Just one new serial cable connects the Plus to the PC and you will now be able to run the instrument from a notebook or Laptop PC without the need for any interface devices.
